As specialists in printing for the Education and Training Sectors in Australia, The Print Group Australia offer design and print features for education certificates to ensure they are secure and assist with compliance requirements. One of our most popular products for certificates is our off-the-shelf security paper, which is pre-printed with security features and ready to purchase in reams of 500 sheets. While this security paper is extremely popular for printing certificates, statements of attainments, record of results and so on, the paper can be used for many documents to secure and avoid fraudulent replication.
We offer the paper pre-printed with the following features in either 160gsm or 240gsm paper weight:
ANTI-COPY BACKGROUND
The anti-copy background helps identify the original document from the copied documents. When the original certificate is copied or scanned, a hidden message “COPY” pattern appears on the scanned or copied document. This background is printed in a pale blue colour and cannot be printed in any other colours. When overprinting your certificate or document, it’s important to not print any additional solid watermarks over the pattern as this will reduce the chance of it activating. This feature is also available on a custom print run and can be applied in any shape or form as required. We highly recommend you test the paper before purchasing as activation can vary from printer to printer. (**please see further information below about this).
SOLVENT REACTIVE INK
The anti-copy background above is printed with a solvent reactive ink. This ink provides visible protection against acids, bases, bleaches and solvents. The ink smudges when touched by any of these substances.
HEAT SENSITIVE RED THERMOCHROMIC ICON
Our off-the-shelf security paper offers a red lock icon in the bottom right hand corner of the document (see image above). This heat sensitive ink is sensitive to temperature changes and will disappear when the heat from your breath or finger is applied and then reappears once cooled. This feature is also available on a custom print run, with the ink available to be printed in any shape or form as required. (ie. shape of your logo).
MICRO TEXT SECURITY LINE
Our off-the-shelf security paper offers the micro text security line in the shape of a square around the red heat sensitive lock icon (see image above). Our micro text says “THEPRINTGROUP” on repeat. This minute font can only be viewed through a magnifying glass. If the document is copied, the text will blur reading the message unreadable. This feature is also available on a custom print run, with the micro text security line often applied as a signature line for our RTO clients, with their unique RTO code on repeat.
SECURITY WARNING BAND
Our off-the-shelf security paper lists the security features incorporated into the document.
In addition to our off-the-shelf security paper, we offer a large variety of additional security features for a custom designed and printed certificate. More information about these options and also project showcases can be viewed below:
**The anti-copy background is only one of the many security features of the paper to act as a deterrent, however, it can be affected by variances such as copier to copier, and print run to print run. We cannot guarantee that the anti-copy pattern will work 100% on all photocopies/scanners due to ever evolving technology and it is also impossible to test every photocopier/scanner manufactured. We highly recommend you test the paper to ensure you are happy with the result. There are other security features that cannot be replicated such as the micro text, heat sensitive thermochromic ink and the solvent reactive ink used in the pattern. These are the more significant features of the security paper with the anti-copy pattern acting as a secondary visual deterrent and is complementary to the other main features. This security paper not only meets, but exceeds the AQF’s Qualifications Issuance Policy requirements on reducing document fraud (found in sections 2.1.6 and 2.2.3) and ASQA clauses 3.1 – 3.4 – Provide secure certification.
